Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix

It’s a snow day here in  my part of Connecticut and  my boy just came in from playing in the snow ready for a nice hot cup of Hot Cocoa.  BUT, there was no hot cocoa mix to be found!  What’s a Mama to do?

Whip some up, of course!

Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix

  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar (I like mine less sweet so I use 2 cups)
  • 1 1/4 cups cocoa
  • 2 cups powdered milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered creamer (use can use all powdered milk if you don't have creamer)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pinch cinnamon

  1. Put all ingredients into a large bowl and whisk until completely combined.
  2. To make Cocoa:
  3. 1/4 cup cocoa mix to 3/4 cups hot water. You may use milk for richer cocoa, but we prefer milk.

Not only is this a great mix to have on hand for your pwn family, but you can put it in  nice containers and give it as a Holiday gift!   Perfect for bus drivers, teachers, mailperson. Would be super cute with a little mug, too!

I like to add a pinch of red pepper, or a little  powdered  coffee powder for a different taste!
